quiet your desires to hear your intuition

know that quieting your desires does not mean silencing them.
your desires can always be in the room with you, but if they are so loud that they drown out the whispers of Divine guidance then you may want to make a change.
we can easily get swallowed up by all we want and feel we need. our cravings become these blaring noises that make it nearly impossible to utilize our ears in order to hear Divine guidance. Spirit is always throwing hints, dropping reminders, but how can you catch them if you are too busy holding onto the anxiety and fear that your desires will pass you by? just because something, or someone, has yet to arrive in the way you want does not mean that blessings are not on the way to you! ironically, and on the contrary, it is often the times we are watching pots boil that Spirit is whispering, ‘order up’!
imagine you are in a busy restaurant: you ordered takeout, got stuck in traffic on the way, you arrived and are now past hungry, and inside you can barely hear yourself think over the sounds of the kitchen and dining room. you are standing there, arms crossed and foot tapping, huffing and puffing waiting to hear your order number called. with all that is going on you failed to look at your surroundings. you never considered reading the names of the orders bagged up and ready to go because your hunger was so loud that you walked right past the sign that says “check the counter for your order”! you were expecting your name to be called, loudly, and for someone to hand you the food you have been so desperately waiting on. well, not only was your order ready when you arrived but it has since gotten a bit cold waiting on you to pick it up. you have been waiting for something that had already been prepared!
see, sometimes we believe we are the ones waiting when it is actually our blessings waiting on us. we get so caught up in ourselves and our timelines that sometimes convenience is the very thing we fool ourselves into perceiving as the opposite. you have so much more power than you think. you are much more favored than you think! you have the ability to pick up the phone and order exactly what you want (pray, manifest, request). you have the means to pay for your order, and then to navigate the route to retrieve it (work, sacrifice, release). you also have the ability to observe and ask questions if need be (be receptive to signs, ask for confirmation, be open to change). you have always had what was needed, you only needed to flow instead of force. the kitchen staff (your Spirit team) had your back the entire time!
expectation can rob you of the very thing you asked for. you had your ideas and beliefs about how that thing needed to show up and you held them so close that you missed out! you were rushing, so you missed out on a coupon when ordering. you were frustrated, so you didn’t hear the beautiful child in the high chair give you a compliment. you were impatient, so you missed out on a hot meal with all the fixings and tools you needed to enjoy it... but, keep in mind, you still got what you ordered. your food was still in that bag with your name on it, fulfilled to your exact liking, but somehow you still missed out and more than likely deemed it a waste whilst blaming everyone for your mistakes: people on the road were driving too slow, the employee who took your order told you 20-30 minutes but it only took 15, the atmosphere was too loud, the employees didn’t specify… your hunger wasn’t wrong but it was what failed you, not them.
here is the point: you have to allow blessings to flow to you. you have to accept that you do not always know best, and to trust that there is a Divine power that knows exactly what you need and when you need it! you can have what you want, but sometimes you can have so much better if you remain receptive to the possibilities. remember: patience is not about how long you wait, it’s about how you wait.
